Talking Toys: Funko Friday Edition

I just submitted an interview I did with Reis O'Brien for my other site Somewhatnerdy.  I want you all to click on the link and check it out. Reis is one of my boys and I love everything he does.  Once you read the interview, check out his other project known as bimtoy. Then get on Netflix and watch the documentary called Making Fun.  You will be glad you did.

Saturday Showcase: Jack of Hearts

Who is Jack of Hearts?  In my opinion, he is the most underrated cosmic being ever to be called an Avenger.  With all this Infinity War hype, they overlooked introducing such a key character of the Cosmic Marvel Universe.  He has battled the Silver Surfer, Thor, and the Hulk for God's sake!

Jack made his first appearance in March of '76 on the title, Deadly Hands of Kung-Fu #22.  He was created by Keith Giffin and Bill Mantlo.  Jack was born Jonathan Hart.  He was the son of brilliant scientists, one from Earth and the other was an alien from the world Contraxia.  His farther was a brilliant scientist which attracted a lot of attention which caused his demise.  While hiding in his father's lab, and accident occurred exposing young Jonathan to the Zero Fluid his parents were working on.  Though the accident left him scared, it also gave him powers.  He wanted vengeance on all those who were responsible for the death of his parents.  He took the name Jack of Hearts in memory of his father, who loved playing cards.

The power Jack now possessed made him appear to be a threat.  People would talk and thought for sure he was one of the bad guys.  That is why he has fought so many memorable battles with t he likes of ROM, Iron Man, and the Silver Surfer.
Things got chaotic for him on Earth so he decided to tour the universe and find his way to Contraxia.  On his journeys, he was involved in some epic battles. Word got out that he was really one of the good guys.  He became a member of the Avengers and has teamed-up with other heroes such as the Thing and Spider-man from time to time.

Since Marvel has not given him the spotlight in a Movie, Game, or TV series;  I figured I would honor him with a Saturday Showcase.   So, here's to you Jack...may you find your moment once again in the near future.
