My Predictions for WWE Backlash 2023

Backlash looks to be a promising pay-per-view.

However, with Vince in the mix, who knows?

Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar

No title is on the line for my first prediction.  The only thing on the line is PRIDE.  Cody failed to finish his story at WrestleMania when he lost to the Tribal Chief, but before he could add another chapter, Brock comes at him with a sequel.  What purpose does the Beast have for attacking the American Nightmare?  Who knows...does Brock really need a reason?  To most fans, they think Brock will win after hitting a few F5s but I think Cody will surprise you.  In fact, I think Cody will win this match and have a strong chance of winning the new Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions.

Winner: the American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes

Bad Bunny vs. Damian Priest (San Juan Street Fight)

This match could be interesting because Bad Bunny has shown us he has skill, but the man who trained him is his opponent.  For that reason alone, I think Damian Priest has an edge.  But who knows, it is a street fight so it is possible that Bad Bunny could have an EDGE of his own.  I think that Bad Bunny will impress, but I also think that Damian Priest will dominate!

Winner: Damian Priest

SmackDown Women's Champion Rhea Ripley vs. Zelina Vega

I have been a fan of Zelina's since I first saw her debut as Rosita on TNA wrestling back in the day,  She has come to the WWE to prove the doubters that she can be the top female in the industry.  Hell,  she's the first Queen of the Ring for Pete's sake.  So why are people having a hard time seeing her as a single's champion?   Well, it might have to do with the fact that the champion is the destructive Rhea Ripley.  These two warriors have battled before and Zelina has been the conquered on more than one occasion.  However, this match is in her native land of Puerto Rico and she has the LWO in her corner, which she make this match a fair shot at the Smackdown title.  It is because of this, that I believe that Zelina has a chance of walking out your new Smackdown Women's Champion.

Winner: Zelina Vega

Matt Riddle, Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn vs. The Bloodline

No titles on the line, but this should be a classic throw down.  The only disadvantage is Riddle has not worked with Owens and Zayn as much as the Bloodline has been together.  The USOs better win for the sake of the Tribal Chief or I feel that he may have a message deliver by the hands of  Solo if they fail.  I know the Champs have been on a roll, I believe that the Bloodline may be victorious in this match.

Winners: the Bloodline

Raw Women's Champion Bianca Belair vs. IYO SKY

Oh, how I wish the best for Iyo Sky to win the championship. I have followed Iyo for basically her entire career. Iyo definitely has what it takes to beat the EST of the WWE to become champion.  I do see a couple of bumps in the road in the form of her Damage CTRL cohorts.  Jealous is an ugly thing and you know they wish they also had the opportunity for the title.  If this is kept to a fair match,  I believe that Iyo  will fly high and capture the gold.

Winner: Iyo Sky

United States Champion Austin Theory vs. Lashley vs. Reed

A town down all day baby.  Love him or hate him, you cannot deny the talent that is Austin Theory.  Sure, Lashley is the Almighty and Bronson is an unstoppable force, but the match itself is not a favorable contest.  If I was Theory, I would just let the big men fight it out and the pin one for the 1,2,3!

Winner: Austin Theory

Seth "Freakin" Rollins vs. Omos

This match will be a classic.  Omos is nothing but a big bully who thinks he can manhandle the architect Seth "Freakin" Rollins.  Oh, how Omos and MVP will find out just exactly how dangerous Rollins can be. Rollins will tear Omos apart piece by piece and finish him off with the Stomp heard round the world.  Then Rollins will be able to focus on his triple threat match to earn his spot for the WWE Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions.

Winner: the Architect, Seth "Freakin" Rollins
