Flashback Friday starring Firestorm

Today's Flashback Friday post is also a Classic Cover and features my favorite nuclear hero, Firestorm.  The issue I am posting is Firestorm #58.  It is here that Firestorm is forced to fight an all new version of the Parasite.  This isn't your Superman's Parasite that is for sure.  Will our hero be able to vanquish the villain with an endless hunger for power?  You will have to see for yourself.

WWE Superstars #2 (Mini Comic Review)

It is time once again for a mini review and I couldn't have found a better comic to do it on.  As some of you may know I am a huge wrestling fan, so it was a no-brainer when I heard that the Hardcore Legend, Mick Foley was writing a comic.  The comic is called WWE Superstars.  I have already reviewed the first issue over at my other site, somewhatnerdy but I also wanted to share the love where my domain of nerdom first started.
Issue #2 continues where we left off in the first issue with everyone after Cena and the missing briefcase filled with $10,000,000.  Cena is trying to clear his name but he keeps getting huge obstacles in his way.  Of course Orton is after the money so he is trying to keep track of Cena and is whereabouts.  Meanwhile, CM Punk is getting a band of brothers together for an upcoming "war" that is brewing between the "Titans" of Titan City.
What it all comes down to is the money in the bank briefcase and everyone wants the money.  People are willing to kidnap and cause physical harm to get their hands on the 10 million and they do not care who they hurt in the process.
I have to admit I am really enjoying the writing style of Mick Foley.  I know he is a successful novelist so therefore he is an accomplished writer, but it isn't easy to write a good story in comic form.  Hell, just ask all the major companies who have had to resort to relaunching their main characters just to keep readers as well as lose some I am sure but the point is writing comics isn't easy but Mick is doing a fine job. I give this issue a strong rating of 9 out of 10, especially since Bray Wyatt did some ass kicking in this issue, LoL.  One thing that I think is ironic is how the Punk character in the comic is against the authority and it seems that is the same issue that cause him to walk away from the WWE for real.  Who knows what the future brings but I am looking forward to the ride. Until next time, get your READ on!
