Did anyone see the Smallville episode "Dominion" last night? I was in comic geek heaven. (*Spoiler Alert*) When Slade shows up on Earth after being freed from the Phantom Zone, and Clark went all hero to see how, I thought oh this is going to be good. When Oliver hitched a ride and they ended up in the throne room of Zod, I thought oh this is going to be good once again. But when Zod made said, Kneel Before Zod, I said this is going to be DAMN good! And you know what, I was right. This by far was one of the best episodes by far. From the mentioning of the "league" to Darkseid's plans for Earth, it was just one great episode. If you didn't see it, see if you know someone who recorded it, or download it today. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Firestorm Friday
I realize this Firestorm Friday post is late, but you will know why in a few. Anyway, due to reasons that are personal, I was asked to watch my nephew and take him to the movies today. Well, after the movies I took my nephew to McDonalds because I knew they started the Brave and the Bold line today. Well, I went ahead and got me a Happy Meal as well and I am glad I did. You see, the new toy line comes with 3 toys each meal. And when I opened my meal to a wonderful surprise. There was a Firestorm and Solomon Grundy in my meal. I thought to myself, self this would make a good Firestorm Friday post. The reason the timing is so late is because I had a hectic day and this was the first that I could share. I wish the makers actually took the time to paint the Firestorm better, but hell I am just glad for the recognition he got to be made a Happy Meal toy to begin with. Anyway, enough ranting, LOL. I have included a pic so that you may see if you want to go to your nearest golden arches yourself.

Thor Movie Special - the Kurse
I was in my local CVS picking up some perscriptions when out of the corner of my eye I saw an image of Thor. I walked to the magazine rack to find a glorious movie special magazine about the norse god himself. When my eyes saw what was inside, I knew I had to have it. Yeah at $ 9.99, the price is a little steep. But, whgen you are a Thor fan, you have to have it. One of the things that sold me on this book was the fact that there is a comic along with artwork and behind the scenes knowledge. But that wasn't what really caught my eye. As I was looking at the comic, my eyes fell upon the glorious appearance of one of my favorite Thor villians of all time, the Kurse. So needless to say, I had to share the image that I saw that made me cry for joy ( not literally, LOL ).
I hope this means there will be a kick-ass Kurse figure in the future! :)
Happy Thorsday!
In celebration of the release of the Thor film from Marvel Studios, Marvel Comics has issued variant covers to some of your favorite comics. With that said, my next few Thor Thursday posts will have some of the artwork that I speak of. To see the entire collection, go to the Derf's Domain Facebook page.

Firestorm Friday
This edition of Firestorm Friday features his appearance in DC Comics the Brave and the Bold #172 (March '81). In this issue we have the greatest detective, Batman, following his young teammate from the league. The reason he is following Firestorm is because the JLA is concerned about his weird behavior lately. I am not going to give away the story because I feel you should read it yourselves to truly enjoy the story. Keep in mind, this is before anyone knew that Professor Stein and Ronnie Raymond combine to make the Nuclear Hero, Firestorm.
Enjoy!

Comic Review ~ Venom
Once again Marvel has decide to change the character known as venom. Ever since we first saw the symbiote bond to Peter Parker in the Secret Wars, we have been interested in this alien life-form. Personally, out of all the Venom hosts, I like Eddie Brock the best. Anyway, Marvel Comics has put out a new series of books out starring Venom. Who is Venom this time? Well, it is someone from Spider-Man and Parker's past. The one and only Flash Thompson. That's right, Peter's old bully grew up joined the military and became a hero when he lost his legs saving a life. The symbiote gives Flash the ability to move freely and have legs again while he is allowed to wear the suit.
That's right, I said allowed. You see, Venom is now property of the U.S. Government and meant to be used in dire situations and Black Ops mssions. The catch, the wearer of the suit only has a few minutes to do the job before they want to remove Venom's contact with the host. That way, there is no permanent bond or insanity to follow.
Well, in issue #1, Venom does his best to save a scientist from being captured but when that fails, he prevents the enemy from getting the scientist in another way. Jack O'Lantern is the main baddy that Venom has to fight besides an army equipped with tanks. The new Jack is cool but I hate the fact that he rides a broom and not a glider. The look of the new Venom suit is well-done and so far the storyline is great. I am not completely sold yet, but I will get the next issue to see where Marvel is taking the Venom Character. I give this storyline a 8 out of 10 for the moment.
Until next time, Happy Reading!
